Me & Friends
Employee Loyalty
Client: Scholz & Friends
My Role: Ideator
In 1981, Jürgen Scholz founded a new creative ad agency: Scholz & Friends. And with the new agency came a new philosophy: flat hierarchies and a more casual, almost familial way of dealing with each other. The idea: every employee is and should feel important, regardless of his or her position. That’s why we call our collegues ‘Friends’ and our departments ‘Families’.
After moving into a fantastic new office building in Berlin’s city centre, we came up with the idea of uplifting our unique philosophy in a fresh and modern way. We opened up our corporate name for interactive participation. Our ‘Friends’ literally get the chance to be the agency for a certain amount of time during the day by incorporating their name into the company’s logo at the front facade of the building.

The technological solution is a Web-API which provides communication between the location based service Foursquare and the huge LED-Display at the entrance, of course for registered employees only. The check-in also triggers a display behind the front desk in the building’s atrium, welcoming the respective colleague. Until another ‘Friend’ checks in ... Our people interact in a natural way with the agency and its heritage, show their pride and their respect to the organization. A fact that serves as a daily inspiration for our clients, distributors, applicants, families, and most important every single ‘Friend’.
